UNFAO Convenes Nobel Peace Laureates Alliance for Food Security and Peace

11 May 2016 – UNFAO Director-General Graziano da Silva convened an a meeting in Rome that officially established an alliance between FAO and the Nobel Peace Laureates to further target the linkages between peace and the achievement of food security. This comes on the heels of the launch of FAO’s report on Peace and Food Security.

The FAO Director-General called upon the Nobel Peace Laureates to join the growing effort to address food security in the context of peace, and vice versa, as food security, sustainable peace and inclusive development are inextricably linked.
